Alnus + Confier, is an early winter intuitive natural dye and material study. Collected from the surrounding wooded areas and parks of Portland, OR.
I chose what plant matter to work within this study by informed curiosity, a bit of natural dye intuition, and the availability of the land in early winter.
All plant materials I collected were from fallen or recently trimmed plant matter. No plant material was directly harvested.
Oak - acorns
plants + plant parts used in dye study:
Red Cedar- leaves
Giant Sequoia- needles
Giant Sequoia- cones
Blue Spruce- needles
Alder - cones
